Prince. Pop idol, multi-talented, a unique person and sadly passed away far too early. His music played an important role in Karin’s childhood but, of course, also afterwards. So it was only natural that Karin would create a beautiful tribute to him, in the form of this very fine portrait. A combination of photographic techniques and acrylic on linen. The artwork has been worked with various types of textured pastes, giving it a stunning look. Also note the “symbols” in the clothing, a nice detail. Stretched on quality linen where the sides are painted through. So the artwork can go right on the wall! Karin’s artworks are handcrafted and are all just a little bit different. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Also available to order online. Upon receipt of the order, we will contact you ASAP to schedule a delivery appointment. Amersfoort Art has the largest collection of artworks by Karin Vermeer in the Netherlands! We cordially invite you to visit our gallery in Amersfoort. Feel free to contact us which works are currently available.
Karin: “My work is a mix of different photographs/images and paint that I combine on the computer and canvas to create a new representation. My favorite subject is the female face. I use pictures of people and old walls, grunge posters and all kinds of other interesting subjects to create another new image. When the digital part is finished, the image is printed and I start painting over it. I create the artwork with many layers of texture, gels and paint over it. In this way I try to make the digital image tangible again. My work is not so much about explanation and concept, it is a game and everything is about the image. I generally start out pretty blank, but by looking at images that interest me and by mixing them, a new image slowly emerges. All works are made on request in any size. Most of these works are a mix of print, paint, grain gel, heavy gel and matte or glossy varnish. The works are handmade, individually slightly different and in an edition of up to 25 pieces, numbered and signed.’
