Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal 1953) is a Dutch artist who began painting in 1980, after years of going through various creative disciplines. He started two exclusive galleries at the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam in 1983. Since 1990, Ad has used screen printing, not only for his own work, but also for the work of other artists. For example, he was Herman Brood’s regular printer for 12 years, but others such as Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem also took advantage of his craft.
After the death of such greats as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad focused his knowledge and specialty on a new technique, CNC laser cutting and milling of various materials used to create the insanely colored sculptures. The demand for the artworks that Ad currently creates is extremely high and is finding its way to art lovers at home and abroad.
