About the artist: Ad van Hassel
Ad van Hassel, born in 1953 in Roosendaal, began painting in 1980 after exploring various creative disciplines. In 1983, he opened two exclusive galleries in the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam. Since 1990, he has used screen printing techniques, not only for his own work, but also for that of other artists. For example, he was Herman Brood’s regular printer for 12 years and worked with artists such as Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.
After the passing of such luminaries as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad shifted his focus to CNC laser cutting and milling of various materials. He uses these techniques to create insanely colorful sculptures, which are highly sought after by art lovers at home and abroad.
