Based in Bunschoten, Jochem de Graaf is a passionate self-taught artist. Painting is his great love, and he has developed a completely unique method and use of materials to give his paintings a special dimension, with relief adding depth and texture. This is further accentuated by the way light and shadow effects play on his works.
Jochem has an extensive body of work and paints a wide range of subjects, including (female) figures, flowers, landscapes and cityscapes/villages, all in his signature style. His artworks are sometimes created with modeling paste and are all produced on linen canvases using oil paint. He applies paint with putty knives, thick brushes or spatulas, and refines details with smaller tools.
