Jochem de Graaf is based in Bunschoten, where he lives and works. Painting is his greatest passion, and he is a self-taught artist. His unique techniques and use of materials add a deep dimension to his paintings, with striking relief that emphasizes depth, enhanced by light and shadow.

Jochem’s oeuvre is extensive and includes a wide range of subjects, from (female) figures to flowers, landscapes and cityscapes/villages, all in his recognizable style. His artworks are sometimes built with modeling paste and are all lovingly crafted on linen canvases with oil paint. He applies paint with putty knives, thick brushes or spatulas and perfects his creations with smaller tools.
