Description

Frida Kahlo is a beautiful work of art by this iconic artist. Karin is a great admirer of Frida and has produced some very beautiful variations of the famous portrait. The artwork is fantastic in structure and use of color. Special to mention is that there are pieces of gold foil incorporated into the artwork. Stretched on quality linen where the sides are painted through. So the artwork can go right on the wall! Karin’s artworks are handcrafted and are all just a little bit different. The artworks of Karin Vermeer are available in a small edition of up to 25 pieces in sizes 100×100 to 150x150cm (other sizes on request) Amersfoort Art has the largest collection of artworks of Karin Vermeer in the Netherlands! Karin: “My work is a mix of different photographs/images and paint that I combine on the computer and canvas to create a new representation. My favorite subject is the female face. I use pictures of people and old walls, grunge posters and all kinds of other interesting subjects to create another new image. When the digital part is finished, the image is printed and I start painting over it. I create the artwork with many layers of texture, gels and paint over it. In this way I try to make the digital image tangible again. My work is not so much about explanation and concept, it is a game and everything is about the image. I generally start out pretty blank, but by looking at images that interest me and by mixing them, a new image slowly emerges. All works are made on request in any size. Most of these works are a mix of print, paint, grain gel, heavy gel and matte or glossy varnish. The works are handmade, individually slightly different and in an edition of up to 25 pieces, numbered and signed.’
