Marc Esteve – Painter of light, sea and stillness
Marc Esteve is a contemporary Spanish painter known for his impressive realistic paintings. He was born in 1971 in Alcoy, a town in the province of Alicante. The environment in which he grew up – with its Mediterranean landscape, bright sunlight and proximity to the sea – was an important source of inspiration for his later work.
His interest in art developed at an early age. Esteve began his education at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Alcoy and continued his studies at the Universidad de Bellas Artes in Altea. During these years he developed a strong technical base and refined his painting style, which would later evolve into a form of hyperrealism with a strong focus on light and detail.
In his work, Marc Esteve primarily uses oil on canvas. His paintings often depict seascapes, still lifes and Mediterranean landscapes. Characteristic of his style is the exceptional precision with which he captures materials, water surfaces and light reflections. Due to his precise technique, his paintings sometimes appear almost photographic, while at the same time exuding a calm, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
The play of light on water and stone is a recurring element in his work. The glint of the sun on the sea, the colors of the coast and the subtle textures of objects in his still lifes are rendered with great attention to detail. This gives even simple subjects a special intensity and beauty.
Over the years, Marc Esteve has gained international recognition. His work is included in several private and public art collections in countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Russia.
