Discover the enchanting art world of Emiliana Cordaro. Born in Maarssen in 1967, she completed her studies at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Emiliana is a master at creating impressionist oil paintings that bring the beauty of landscapes to life. Her source of inspiration is the world around her, from picturesque Italian villages to vast European moors, and everything in between.
Her work is not just about rendering reality, but mainly about capturing the atmosphere of the landscape. She transforms the landscape into a composition of shapes, lines, colors and contrasts. Using vibrant pigments, she creates colors reminiscent of William Turner’s later work. By layering the paint and pigments, she models images with an intense atmosphere, sometimes almost transparent, bringing the original landscape to life. The rich application of paint and pigments results in paintings of impressive depth and texture that, like a fine wine, take time to fully appreciate. Although her work is decidedly modern, it also exudes a classical charm, thanks in part to the beautiful “Dutch skies.
