Description of Fi

Fi is a breathtaking artwork by Karin Vermeer, which centers on a composite photograph of a model. The image raises questions about what the young woman sees and why she keeps a certain distance. This intriguing composition is a combination of photographic techniques and acrylic on linen. The artwork is further enriched with various types of textured pastes, giving it a unique look.

High quality finishing

Fi is stretched on quality linen and the sides are painted by Karin Vermeer herself, so the artwork can be hung directly on the wall. Each piece of art is handcrafted, giving it a unique touch. In addition, Fi comes with a certificate of authenticity.

About Karin Vermeer

Karin Vermeer: “My work is a mix of different photographs, images and paint, which I combine both on the computer and on canvas to create a new representation. My favorite subject is the female face. I use pictures of people, old walls, grunge posters and all kinds of other interesting subjects to create a new image. Once the digital part is done, the image is printed and I start painting over it. I create the artwork with many layers of texture, gels and paints. In this way I try to make the digital image tangible. My work is not so much about explanation and concept; it is a game and everything revolves around the image. I usually start quite blank, but by looking at images that interest me and mixing them, a new image slowly emerges. All works are made on request in any size. Most of these works are a mix of print, paint, grain gel, heavy gel and matte or glossy varnish. The works are handmade, individually slightly different and in an edition of up to 25 pieces, numbered and signed.”
