Pink Marilyn is a beautiful work of art by Ronald Chapeau. Ronald uses a combination of silkscreen and collage techniques and then manipulates it with thick acrylic paint. All the monotypes in this series, in addition to using silkscreen techniques, are entirely hand-painted and hand-carved. This makes each work of art unique. Stretched on a 4cm thick canvas of which the sides are painted through, so it is ready to go on the wall! Ronald Chapeau (born The Hague, 1969) is a Dutch artist. By profession, he has been an artisan screen printer for many years. After years of experience as a screen printer for Herman Brood, Corneille and others, Ronald chose several years ago to combine his artistic insight, creativity and his passion for art on canvas. Meanwhile, he knows how to apply a great technique to his works of art. From unique Stedelijk Museum announcement posters to old newspapers from around the world adorn Ronald Chapeau’s full body of work. Only original details will be added to the small editions that are at once pop art, surrealism, figurative and populist. In short, contemporary and modern work, inspired by the likes of Andy Warhol and Herman Brood.
