About the artist
Yulia Muravyeva, born in Russia and living in the Netherlands since 2010, is an artist with an extraordinary talent for painting and drawing. Her fascination with color mixing began at an early age, and she further developed her skills while studying to become a drawing teacher in the classical arts. Her paintings are easily recognized by their fresh and cheerful colors, especially the flower paintings, which are often done in thick layers of paint.
Style and technique
Yulia’s paintings range from abstract styles to more detailed works. The background of her paintings always contains beautiful color transitions that evoke a warm and positive feeling. Her work is constantly evolving toward more modern and abstract forms, although classical influences are still visible. The thick paint layer of the flowers gives her artworks an extra dimension that is difficult to capture in photographs.
