Louis-Philippe de Cabernet Sauvignon subtly placed the tip of the corkscrew precisely in the center of the cork of the 1990 Bordeaux. Even as all the emotion made his pulse quiver, he slowly removed the cork and the characteristic popping of an uncorked bottle resonated against the walls of the wine cellar. He examined the appearance, and as he smelled it, a slight smile appeared on his face. Slowly he poured the precious liquid into a crystal glass, which he held up slightly to appreciate the clear and brilliant contents, an intense cherry red color with hints of ruby and a hint of austere reddish brown.
He brought the glass up to his nose, closed his eyes and smelled the explosion of chocolate aroma, truffles, aromatic woods, leather, all of which were incredibly elegant, an expression of infinite variety. He brought the precious liquid to his lips, sipped from it and realized he had forgotten to rinse the glass. Traces of dish soap that were on the glass gave the wine a light taste of hand soap with an aroma of deodorant and a bouquet of detergents, all perfectly balanced with great complexity and harmony.
