Jean-François came out of the cellar with one of the most expensive wines in the world. The label was a little torn. He plucked away a few threads of cobwebs, blew away some dust and read with feeling: “Romanée-Conti, 1990.” A tear rolled down his cheek. He took a few steps toward the window to better appreciate the ruby hues that shimmered with purple in the precious liquor, when he accidentally stepped on the tail of the cat that was sleeping peacefully near the balcony. The man was so startled by the animal’s painful cry that the bottle slipped from his hands. From then on, everything happened as if in slow motion: the wine swirled through the air, Jean-François dived to catch the coveted elixir, and when his head hit the Louis XV commode, two of his teeth flew to the ceiling … Fortunately , he managed to intercept the bottle. A broad smile brightened his rather erratic face: he had avoided catastrophe.
