John Horsewell (born Essex, 1952) is an English artist. At a very young age, he became aware of growing up in an art-loving family. In a completely natural way, he (with parents and a grandfather who were professionals) picked up artistry. He experimented with various techniques but Horsewell soon discovered that oil painting suited him best. This gives him the most expression with colors and depth.

By 1978, he was able to live on his art alone. His work was soon on display at exhibitions in the United States, Japan and, of course, Great Britain, among others. He discovered that the style and technique he uses best suits favorite landscapes of his in his immediate surroundings. He is an authentic Englishman who is also quite at home in southern Europe, where he has seen the most beautiful beaches and sunsets. This is where he gets his inspiration.

John Horsewell uses both a brush and a palette knife for different colors. He paints both on location and in his own studio. His goal is to use his art to take the viewer into the landscape. John still lives in Essex-Suffolk with his wife and three children, and his love of art keeps him moving forward.
