About the artist
Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal, 1953) is a Dutch artist who began his career painting in 1980. After years of creative development, he opened two exclusive galleries in the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam in 1983. Since 1990, Ad has used the silkscreen technique, not only for his own work, but also for that of other artists. Among other things, he was Herman Brood’s regular printer for 12 years, and also worked with artists such as Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.
After the death of such luminaries as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad turned his expertise to a new technique: CNC laser cutting and milling of various materials. This technique allows him to create frenzied, colorful sculptures loved by art lovers around the world.
