About the artist – Jochem de Graaf
Jochem de Graaf, living and working in Bunschoten, is a self-taught artist whose passion for painting is evident in his work. His unique technique and use of materials give a special dimension to his paintings, with the relief creating an impressive depth effect that is enhanced by light and shadow effects.
Wide range of topics
Jochem has an extensive body of work and paints a wide range of subjects, including (female) figures, flowers, landscapes and cities/villages, all in his recognizable style. His artworks are sometimes set up with modeling paste and are all made with oil paint on linen canvases. Using a putty knife, thick brush or spatula, he applies paint to the canvas, then uses smaller tools to add refinement.
