Description

Dexter Gold – a work of art by Jacky Zegers

A unique sculpture including pedestal

Jacky Zegers: “Dexter Gold celebrates the joy and vitality of life. It radiates strength, movement and positivity – an ode to the inexhaustible enthusiasm that life can offer us. The golden drops symbolize the mutual influence between the world around us and ourselves. Every moment we leave something of us in our environment and receive something back. The gold represents the beautiful, precious marks we leave behind and the special energies we attract. Dexter Gold reminds you to live consciously and celebrate the joy of the moment…’

Cheerful addition to any collection

Dexter Gold is a sublime sculpture by Jacky Zegers. The heavy sculpture comes complete with pedestal (size 80x30x30cm) and is 135cm high and hand painted. A unique work of art that of course comes with a certificate of authenticity. This sculpture is of course on display in our gallery.

Statue made of Neolith

Neolith is a sintered stone, a material produced by sintering (fusing together) natural ingredients such as granite, glass and natural oxides under high pressure and temperature. The result is a strong, durable and heat-resistant material that is often used for kitchen countertops, flooring, wall coverings and other interior and exterior surfaces, and has now been incorporated into the artistic sector.

Art with a wink

Jacky: “You come home from a busy day, your head is full of a thousand things. At home, you plop down on the couch. And then your attention is drawn to a sculpture, perhaps a colorful dog or a deer in bronze…. it puts a smile on your face, it reminds you of pleasant moments, it puts things into perspective and gives you a sense of freedom. You come home. I was about 8 years old when I discovered the shed in my parents’ backyard. I watched my father make tables. I wanted to know about the construction and, above all, wanted to create something myself.

Wooden sculptures

Jacky: “My first figurine was of wood, made with my grandfather’s gouges. The shed became my domain. Every lost hour I used to create something. Mostly sculptures, but also drawings and critters made of fabric. The paintings came later.

Nature as a source of inspiration

Inside me is an urge to create. To create with my hands. Nature is my inspiration. Animals, plants, all the different ways life takes shape. For years I have had a studio in my own backyard where I create my sculptures and paintings. Where I can go quickly when I have a new inspiration and where I can work outside, weather permitting.

Geometry and symmetry

As a mathematician, I love geometric shapes; the fractal symmetry of a fern or a tree branch, for example, patterns in water or sand….nature loves structure and I give these shapes a place in my work.

The purpose of my art

My mission is to make people happy with my art. Everything is energy, if you focus on positive and beautiful things around you, on pleasure, joy, love, you will spread these things. The more happy people there are in this world, the more happiness there will be. The best thing you can do for others is to be happy!

Communicating with art

As an adult, I discovered that I can communicate with others through my sculptures and paintings. I believe that life is there to have fun, to love and enjoy. Of and with other people and animals. You can see that in my art. I hope my art lets you see and feel how beautiful life is, with a wink.
