Jacky Zegers says, “I’ve been experimenting with paint dots for a while now. First I had a dot phase, I find it so fascinating that you can create endless patterns with such a simple dot. Now I’m mostly into paint dripping down and the patterns that are created.”
Inspiration and meaning
These figurines are inspired by the Delft blue farmer and farmer’s wife, symbols of natural love. For Jacky, this represents the obvious love. “It makes so much sense that those two love each other, that’s just the way it should be.” When she had to come up with names for this duo, she wanted to name them after a famous Dutch duo. In the end, they became Lot and Mina: her grandparents. For Jacky, a very familiar Dutch duo! And quite naturally that they loved each other.
