Marc Esteve - Master of light and realism

Spanish painter Marc Esteve belongs to a generation of contemporary artists who have revived the tradition of realistic painting. Born in 1971 in Alcoy, a town in the province of Alicante, he grew up in an environment where the Mediterranean landscape, beautiful sunlight and proximity to the sea left a lasting impression. These elements would later play an important role in his artistic development.

From an early age, Esteve developed a strong interest in drawing and painting. He took his first art course at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Alcoy and continued his studies at the Universidad de Bellas Artes in Altea. During this period he refined his technical skills and developed a style characterized by exceptional precision and attention to detail.

Marc Esteve's work is best known for his impressive hyper-realistic paintings. Using oil on canvas or panel, he manages to bring seascapes, still lifes and Mediterranean landscapes to life. Light, reflection and texture play a central role in his paintings. The waters of the Mediterranean, rocky coastlines and carefully composed still lifes are rendered with such refined technique that at first glance they appear almost photographic. Yet behind this technical perfection lies a subtle poetic atmosphere that gives his work a character all its own.

Mediterranean light is an important source of inspiration in his oeuvre. The change of colors on the surface of the water, the glint of sunlight on stones and the tranquility of coastal landscapes are recurring motifs in his paintings. This attention to atmosphere and detail makes his work both recognizable and timeless.

Over the years, Marc Esteve has gained an international reputation. His paintings are included in private and public collections in several countries, including Spain, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Russia. In addition, his work is also part of the prestigious private collection of the Royal Palace in Saudi Arabia.

Today, Esteve still lives and works in his native region, where the Mediterranean landscape continues to inspire him. From his studio, he continues to work on paintings that capture the beauty of everyday subjects with an exceptional degree of realism and sensitivity to light and atmosphere.
