About the artist
Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal 1953) began painting in 1980 after years of exploring various creative disciplines. In 1983, he opened two exclusive galleries in the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam. Since 1990, Ad has specialized in screen printing, both for his own work and that of other artists, including Herman Brood, Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.
After the death of such greats as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad turned his expertise to CNC laser cutting and milling, which he uses to create insanely colorful sculptures. His artworks are in high demand and they find their way to art lovers at home and abroad.
