About the artist Ad van Hassel

Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal, 1953) is a renowned Dutch artist who began painting in 1980. After years of going through various creative disciplines, he opened two exclusive galleries in the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam in 1983. Since 1990, Ad has specialized in screen printing, both for his own work and that of other artists. Among other things, he was Herman Brood’s regular printer for 12 years and worked with artists such as Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.

After the death of such luminaries as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad turned his knowledge and specialty to a new technique: CNC laser cutting and milling of various materials. This technique allows him to create colorful sculptures. Demand for the artworks Ad currently creates is high, and they are finding their way to art lovers both at home and abroad.
