About the artist Ad van Hassel
Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal, 1953) is a versatile Dutch artist who began his career in 1980 with painting, after exploring various creative disciplines. In 1983, he opened two exclusive galleries in the Sonesta and Krasnapolsky hotels in Amsterdam. Since 1990, Ad has specialized in screen printing, both for his own work and that of other artists. Among other things, he was Herman Brood’s regular printer for 12 years and also worked with artists such as Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.
After the death of such greats as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad turned his expertise to new techniques such as CNC laser cutting and milling of various materials. With these, he creates the colorful sculptures that are now highly sought after by art lovers at home and abroad.
