About Emiliana Cordaro
Emiliana Cordaro, born in Maarssen in 1967, completed her education at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Her passion lies in creating impressionistic oil paintings that capture the essence of landscapes. Inspired by the landscapes, towns and villages she explores during her travels, ranging from charming Italian villages to vast European moors, she transforms them into a composition of shapes, lines, colors and contrasts.
The technology behind Emerald Landscape
In Emerald Landscape, Emiliana uses vibrant pigments to create a rich color palette similar to William Turner’s later work. She models with paint and pigment in layers, resulting in atmospheric and sometimes transparent images that bring the original landscape to life. The abundant paint and pigments create a painting with rich layering that adds depth and texture and invites to be rediscovered again and again.
