Beautiful artwork by Jochem de Graaf. This painting, obviously a one-of-a-kind, is painted with thick layers of oil paint on linen which gives a special dynamic. The composition of the flowers is almost abstract, which gives the artwork a modern look. The size is 100×150 cm and, because the sides are painted through, it can be placed right on the wall. About the artist
Jochem de Graaf, based and working in Bunschoten, paints with passion and without formal art training. His method and use of materials add a special dimension to his paintings, with the relief creating an impressive depth effect. The light and shadow accents further emphasize this effect. Jochem has an extensive body of work and paints a wide range of subjects, including flowers, landscapes and cities/villages, all in his recognizable style. His artworks are sometimes set up with modeling paste and are all made with oil paint on linen canvases. With a putty knife, thick brush or spatula he applies the paint to the canvas, and with smaller tools the refinement follows.
