The artist: William Malucu
William Malucu (Alagoas, 1975) is a Brazilian artist living and working in Fortaleza, Brazil. His uninhibited passionate expression of color and composition invites you to step into his creative world. Malucu’s ability to release his emotions through these expressions makes him an artist at heart. His sources of inspiration include the nightlife in Brazil’s sweltering northeast, the ocean view from his studio and the classical music of Mahler and Bach, which he enjoys listening to while painting.
Unique style and materials
William Malucu is known for his sophisticated color and form compositions that he uses to communicate in a direct way. In his signature style, he uses various original materials such as gold leaf, sand and old newspapers in addition to acrylic paint. Through the many layers he applies in his artworks, he manages to surprise the viewer time and again. Malucu’s works are loved by a wide audience and are represented by galleries in the Netherlands, England, Germany, Belgium, France and Scandinavia.
