About the artist
Ad van Hassel, born in 1953 in Roosendaal, began his artistic career in 1980. After years of experimenting with different creative disciplines, he opened two exclusive galleries in the hotels Sonesta and Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam in 1983. Since 1990 he has been an expert in the silkscreen technique, not only for his own work, but also for that of other well-known artists such as Herman Brood, Corneille, Jan Cremer, Rob Scholte, Shunyam and Peter Diem.
Innovation and craftsmanship
After the death of such luminaries as Herman Brood and Corneille, Ad van Hassel turned his craftsmanship to new technologies such as CNC laser cutting and milling. He uses these techniques to create his colorful and unique sculptures, which are loved by art collectors worldwide.
